Application Evaluations
West Virginia University admissions counselors can offer an Application Evaluation for your high school students to minimize the waiting period on an admissions decision. This process is also known as application-on-the-spot, instant application, and instant admission.
For this procedure to work as efficiently as possible, we ask that guidance counselors have the follow materials available when a WVU admissions counselor arrives:
- A list of students attending the Application Evaluation.
- Current official transcripts for each student attending the Application Evaluation.
- Current official ACT or SAT scores for each student attending the Application Evaluation, if not included with the transcript.
- Immunization records for each student attending the Application Evaluation.
- A room for the admissions counselor to meet with the students individually to review the Application Evaluation materials.
Please remind students to bring the following items to the Application Evaluation.
- A completed West Virginia University admissions application. Applications can be downloaded from this webpage: http://www.arc.wvu.edu/admissions/applications.html
Click on the “Download a copy of our admissions application” link for a PDF version to print.
- The admissions application fee - $25 check for WV students; $40 check for non-WV students. Checks need to be made payable to West Virginia University, or WVU. Checks are the preferred payment method. If a student does not bring the admissions application fee, they will be billed for the amount due.
- Current official ACT or SAT scores, if not included with the transcript. These cannot be the scores printed from an email or a website. These must be the official scores as sent to the student in the US Mail.
- Immunization records, if not included with the transcript.
Counselors, please be aware that a student applying to West Virginia University needs to meet a minimum grade point average in order to have their admissions application reviewed.
- WV Students need a 2.0 minimum GPA.
- Non-WV Students need a 2.25 minimum GPA.
These minimum GPA’s do not guarantee admission. They only enable a review of the admissions application.
