West Virginia Resident Scholarship Renewal

To retain scholarships for subsequent years, all scholars (except Achievement Awardees) are required to maintain specific cumulative grade-point averages and to complete a minimum number of credits per year. The renewal criteria for all WVU West Virginia Resident Scholarships are presented below.

Foundation Scholarship
Criteria to Renew - A GPA of 3.20 after the freshman year, then 3.30 after the sophomore and junior years. Scholars must also complete at least 24 credit hours per year. Requires 20 hours of approved University Service per semester.

Neil S. Bucklew Scholarship
Criteria to Renew - A GPA of 3.20 after the freshman year, then 3.30 after the sophomore and junior years. Scholars must also complete at least 24 credit hours per year. Requires 20 hours of approved University Service per semester.

University Merit Scholarship
Criteria to Renew - A GPA of 3.20 after the freshman year, then 3.30 after the sophomore and junior years. Scholars must also complete at least 24 credit hours per year.

Presidential Scholarship
Criteria to Renew - A GPA of 3.00 after the freshman year, then 3.20 after the sophomore and junior years. Scholars must also complete at least 24 credit hours per year.

Rhododendron Scholarship
Criteria to Renew - A GPA of 2.90 after the freshman year, then a a cumulative 3.10 after the sophomore and junior years. Scholars must complete at least 24 credit hours per yea

Mountaineer Scholarship
Criteria to Renew - A GPA of 2.75 after the freshman year, then 3.00 after the sophomore and junior years. Scholars must also complete at least 24 credit hours per year.

Governor's Honors Academy Scholarship
Criteria to Renew - A GPA of 2.75 after the freshman year, then 3.00 after the sophomore and junior years. Scholars must also complete at least 24 credit hours per year.

G. Belmont Berry Scholarship
Criteria to Renew - A GPA of 2.50 after the freshman year, then 2.75 after the sophomore and junior years. Scholars must also complete at least 24 credit hours per year.

Shenandoah Scholarship
Criteria to Renew - A GPA of 2.50 after the freshman year is required to renew for the second year. Scholars must also complete at least 24 credit hours per year.

Achievement Scholarship
There is no renewal criteria as this is a one time award.
