  • Scholarships are awarded on an ongoing basis beginning approximately October 15.
  • Grade point average (GPA) is based on information received from a student's high school transcript. The most recent cumulative GPA on the transcript at the time of application is used when determining admissions to the University and scholarship eligibility. Neither the Office of Admissions & Records nor the Scholarship Office recalculates GPAs for scholarship consideration after the initial application for Admission.
  • We will use the highest composite ACT or SAT score submitted from one test date. At this time, writing/essay sections are not included as part of the total score being used for evaluation.
  • Students receiving a perfect ACT or SAT score may be eligible for additional scholarship dollars. Please contact the WVU Undergraduate Scholarship Office for details.
  • Please note: If a student is eligible for more than one scholarship from the WVU Undergraduate Scholarship Office, the student will be awarded the scholarship with the highest dollar value. Students named as National Merit Finalists may use their WVU-sponsored need-based National Merit award in addition to any other WVU scholarship for which the student qualifies. To retain scholarships for subsequent years, all scholars are required to maintain specific cumulative grade-point averages and to complete a minimum number of credits per year.
