to prepare you for a future in the fields of science
and health. The extraordinary array of real-life, hands-on
experiences, bring you an unsurpassed education in advanced
patient care, diagnosis treatment, disease prevention,
health and wellness.
Four schools comprise the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences
Center: Dentistry,

Nursing, and
Pharmacy.
With more than 1,700 students enrolled in programs at
the Health Sciences Center, a camaraderie exists amongst
WVU students that creates an environment where you may
freely share ideas and interests. Gender is no longer
a barrier to any health profession. The number of women
enrolling in fields once dominated by men, such as medicine,
dentistry, and pharmacy, clearly reflects the changes
in our society. At WVU, you will find a showcase of
cultural diversity as the Mountaineer spirit rises to
achieve a common goal: academic excellence.
