What is the difference between New Student Orientation and Mountaineer Visitation Days?
New Student Orientation is specifically designed for students who are admitted for the upcoming Spring or Fall semester. It introduces you to campus—you will learn about WVU’s academic programs, meet faculty members, register for your classes after discussing your options with your academic advisor, discover all of our student support services, and make new friends with other incoming students.

Orientation
Mountaineer Visitation Days (MVDs) are special days for prospective students and their families to visit us. They are designed to meet your specific needs. As our guest for the day, you and your family will tour the campus and meet faculty and staff to learn more about admission requirements, courses of study, the cost of attendance, financial aid, scholarships, housing, student organizations, and other important information. MVDs take place on designed days throughout the year.
