New Student Orientation Information

New Student Orientation introduces you to campus. You will learn about WVU's academic programs, meet faculty members, discover all of our student support services, and make new friends with other incoming students. You will register for your fall classes after discussing your options with your academic advisor.

New Student Orientation will take place this summer in two program formats; a one-day Standard Program, or a day and a half Extended Program. Details will be mailed in March to freshmen who have paid the WVU Academic Deposit and to all transfer students.
Transfer students are not required to pay the academic deposit.

Students must pay the Academic Deposit before registering for Orientation.

Pay your academic deposit online at:

Placement exams often raise many questions. Many majors require a certain level of math or chemistry to enroll in some courses. Click here for placement exam information.
